The top has finally come off Audi’s new A5 with the premiere of the Cabriolet. Arriving in European dealerships in March 2017 the new convertible promises more space, less noise, and—like its hardtop brethren—more power and efficiency.

Thanks to a new chassis that’s geometrically designed to be lighter and stronger, the new A5 Cabriolet is 40% stiffer than the outgoing model and nearly 90 lbs lighter (3,725 lbs). In fact, it’s stiffer than any of its competitors, despite being among the lightest in its segment.

Despite that, comfort and safety haven’t been sacrificed. The head-thorax airbags will keep your melon in one piece in the event of a rollover, and extending aluminum profiles will keep the rest of you from being squished. That’s even if collision avoidance, turn assist, park assist, rear cross traffic assist, exit warning don’t prevent the accident in the first place.

The A5 Cabriolet [...]

A new carbon fiber outfit for the F12

If you are one of those strange, well-moneyed souls who enjoys modifying supercars, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to tuning outlets. Throw a fat wad of bills at Hamann, Underground Racing, Liberty Walk, Mansory, or Novitec Rosso, and your Ferrari or Lamborghini will emerge with acres of extra bodywork, a flashy wrap, a deafening exhaust, and heap of extra horsepower. Per Autocar, each body panel is redesigned in carbon fiber, inspired in part by Ferrari’s GT3-series cars, like the new 488 GT3. Again, [...]

2017 BMW 5 Series Sedan First Look

Taking inspiration from the 7 Series

BMW‘s tweener sedan is growing up quickly. Now in its seventh generation, the BMW 5 Series gains a set of more powerful engines, a lighter body, and a brand-new exterior design for the 2017 model year. Equally important, new gesture control technology and semi-autonomous driving features bring it closer to its older brother, the 7 Series.

The headlights now connect to the grille, and the lower air vents appear a bit bolder than before. Overall dimensions have changed slightly; the new 5 Series is 1.2 inches longer, 0.3 inch wider, and 0.6 inch taller than the outgoing model.

No longer is the 528i the base trim in the 5 Series sedan lineup. That model has been replaced by the 530i, which features a new 2.0-liter [...]

Bavarian tuner Mansory set its sights on the all-terrain Bentley Bentayga and plans to unveil its latest carbon fiber-laden creation at SEMA, the world’s premier automotive specialty products show in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 1-4.

mansory_bentayga_frontMansory reworked the Bentayga’s aerodynamics to create a wider overall stance and appearance as well as creating a bump in power for handling in corners. The team started by enhancing the SUV’s snout with a complete apron and an integrated carbon fiber front lip as well as additional LED daytime running lights.

The Bentayga’s front end also receives a carbon fiber grille and an ultra-light carbon hood for a more aggressive and wider stance. A lovely two-part roof spoiler was mounted to the tailgate to reduce lift on the rear axle and a new rear skirt was added but doesn’t [...]
